From our first days in business in 1900, Toppan has been committed to contributing to the sustainable development of society by propagating printing technology. Climate change and environmental issues have also become bigger challenges for us. To further enhance our contribution to society as a corporate citizen, we are promoting sustainability initiatives that link to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Responsible Sourcing
Toppan has the ambition to bring better products, services, and impact to our ociety, with efficient use of resources, development of long-life products, and cleaner production processes.
- FSC® CERTIFIED
- TOPPAN is promoting use of FSC©certified materials, which means that the wood from which the paper is made originates exclusively from sustainable forestry.
- NO added formaldehyde or volatile organic compounds (VOC)
- TOPPAN has several products made by polyolefin-based printed film “Olefin”.
It contributes to produce eco-friendly products without formaldehyde or VOC.
Achieved 100% Recycle rate
In order to promote high-level sorting in waste management, we are making efforts to share cases of sorting problems, investigating the cause of issues, and discussing and taking measures to prevent issues from recurring.
Regarding contracting out for waste disposal, we oversee waste disposal contractors by establishing items our company has selected to monitor to assure waste disposal complies with the law. After contracting out disposal services, we periodically carry out audits and take other measures to ensure we are fulfilling our responsibility as a producer of waste for its proper disposal.
