KŌCHU

The enchanting fluidity of matter Energy. Climbing the horizon. Layering of space. Sacredness and technological euphoria. Prometeutica audacity and sublime nature. Dialoguing with the sign par excellence: the spiers of the Cathedral, symbol of antimaterici thoughts and at the same time solid, Space icons and time. There is all this in 'installation "kochu" designed and built to the outside of the furniture fair in the courtyard of the "University of Milan. Recurring dream of man is to cross with his body matter. Drive through a wall, a mountain rock, a metal fence just walking, moving an arm, and there is no more resistance, nothing becomes an obstacle to the desire to dominate matter, to subdue it to his own desires. Luca Trazzi gives life to this dream forcing two such antagonistic, as the slight inconstancy of light and impenetrable hardness of the material, to live. The structure is composed of a series of simple plates in 5 mm aluminum to 3 meters in torsion, replicated four times in height. The only twist stave leaves perceive the space of the Courtyard of Honor making the light installation and dynamic. The laminae, provided by the Japanese Fortina by Toppan Printing CO., Aluminum components are coated on one side with wood and metal effect films that are to create plays of color and light and shade on the inner and outer surface of the installation. Luca Trazzi depicts both the Japanese-Fortina by Toppan with the language of transparency, lightness and strength that they give rise to, and the quality material, the sheer size and potential of the company's catalog. The installation also interacts with light by day use the natural one which affects differently in the hours of the day, it changes the perception; The installation is abandoned as the light changes in its alternation of shadows and flares, gray and colors, while ... At night, concealed lighting, recessed at the foot of recycled wood base, sliding and demeaning to the outer surface, gradually disappearing in the volume of the work. Luca Trazzi

Living and constructing in today’s world: the ‘Fortina produced by Toppan’ solution

In the fields of architecture and interior design, clients increasingly opt for products manufactured in respect of the environment and that guarantee health and safety. At the same time, trade operators are briefed to use lightweight materials that can be installed easily as this will reduce the on-site labor requirements, costs and construction times. Toppan Printing Co., Ltd has provided an answer to both of these demands by associating design and advanced technical solutions that begin with its own printing experience.

‘Fortina produced by Toppan’, developed in industrial terms as a spinoff from the Living & Industry division. It is a system of cover materials for interior and exterior use. They consist of spandrels (slats) and louvers in aluminum coated in a PVC-free decorative film that produces an incredibly realistic reproduction of the appearance and the veining of a range of different wood types. The film can also be used to reproduce the textures of some metals and the earthy soul of terracotta. The range of more than 150 colors, textures and finishes provides the most appropriate choices for the specific context. Thanks to the 50 trim louver formats, this range provides an infinity of shapes and finishes; they are resistant to atmospheric agents and fire- resistant, with simple, rapid and low cost installation. Consequently, ‘Fortina produced by Toppan’ is an elegant and efficacious coating system that can satisfy a broad range of design requirements.
